Exciting news for digital doodlers: A wireless, pressure-sensitive stylus is coming to the iPad.?
The new stylus is tentatively dubbed Blue Tiger and it's made by Ten One Design, the company which created the Fling game-controller and Pogo stylus accessories for the iPad.
Blue Tiger relies on Bluetooth 4.0 technology, meaning that it should offer great battery life and connectivity.?It has full pressure sensitivity, palm-rejection capabilities (so that you can rest your hand against your iPad's screen without messing up a drawing), and lights to indicate which pen color you've selected, but only if you use a supported app.
Those who are familiar with the drawing tablets offered by companies such as Wacom are likely to find Blue Tiger appealing. While the new stylus certainly doesn't appear to offer the same precision as Wacom's digital pens???or the their tilt-sensitivity, for that matter???it is among the first products to bring pressure-sensitivity to the iPad.
Blue Tiger is still in the development phase?and still avaiting FCC approval, meaning that there's no pricing or availability information just yet. But at least there's a demo video over which iPad artists can drool?for now.
